Guidance to clubs

In recent years the number of canoe clubs being asked to provide safety supervision to open water swimming activities such as swim/triathlon events and from open water swimming training venues has seen a dramatic increase.

In response to this, BC Lifeguards have published some guidance for clubs to use/follow when committing to such activities.

The guidance is designed to provide clubs with a framework to work within to help ensure both they, their members and the activity organiser are fully aware of their responsibilities, and to ensure best practice is followed in the planning and implementation of the activity.
